Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground turkey (93/7 lean)
  • 1 tablespoon Greek seasoning (Cavender's or homemade)
  • 1 large egg
  • 10 ounces frozen spinach (thawed and drained)
  • 5 ounces feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Skillet or grill
  • Spatula
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Start by thawing the frozen spinach and squeeze out any excess moisture using a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, Greek seasoning, egg, drained spinach, and crumbled feta cheese. Mix until just combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties, making a small indentation in the center of each.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or prepare your grill. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they reach 165°F.
  5. Let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving on whole grain buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • You can freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before cooking.
  • Experiment with different spices or herbs for added flavor.
  • For a lighter option, serve the patties in lettuce wraps instead of buns.
  • These burgers pair well with sides like Greek salad or sweet potato fries.
