Ingredients

For the Chicken Bites:
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 units eggs
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
For the Sticky Sauce:
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chives chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Method

Preparation Steps:
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, season the cubed chicken with salt and pepper. Ensure the chicken is evenly coated for the best flavor.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs until well beaten. In a separate shallow dish, place the Panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, roll the chicken in the Panko breadcrumbs to coat evenly. Place the breaded chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake the chicken bites in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
  6. While the chicken is baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, Sriracha, low sodium soy sauce, dark soy sauce, molasses, five-spice powder, and minced garlic. Stir occasionally until the mixture is heated through and slightly thickened.
  7. Once the chicken bites are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle the sticky sauce over them, tossing gently to coat each piece.
  8. Sprinkle the chicken bites with chopped chives and sesame seeds just before serving. Enjoy these Sticky Honey Sriracha Chicken Bites while they’re hot!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with tofu or tempeh.
  • Use regular breadcrumbs if Panko is unavailable.
  • Adjust Sriracha according to your spice preference.
