Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce containers jalapeño cream cheese room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro divided use
  • 1 cup finely chopped Fisher Nuts pecans

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Plastic Wrap
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure your jalapeño cream cheese is at room temperature to make mixing easier. Chop your pecans and cilantro finely for the best texture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the room temperature jalapeño cream cheese and taco seasoning. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, mix until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese.
  3. Next, fold in the shredded Mexican blend cheese and 2 tablespoons of the finely chopped cilantro. This will add flavor and texture to your cheese ball.
  4. Once everything is combined, use plastic wrap to shape the mixture into a ball. Wrap it tightly and place it in the refrigerator for at least an hour to chill and firm up.
  5. While your cheese ball is chilling, finely chop the remaining tablespoon of cilantro and mix it with the chopped pecans. This will be your delicious coating.
  6. After the cheese ball has chilled, unwrap it and roll it in the pecan and cilantro mixture. Make sure to coat it evenly for a beautiful presentation.
  7. Transfer your Spicy Taco Cheese Ball to a serving platter. Pair it with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies, and watch as your guests devour it in no time!

Notes

  • Make the cheese ball ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Roll in the pecan coating just before serving for optimal crunch.
