Ingredients
  

For the Sandwich:
  • 3 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons low-fat or nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese or Neufchatel cheese
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh dill
  • 1 dash salt
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon
  • 2-3 leaves butter lettuce torn into 3-4 pieces
  • 2-3 slices ripe red tomato
  • 1 teaspoon capers (optional)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, cream cheese, minced dill, and a dash of salt. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  2. Using a sharp knife, cut your slices of white bread if they are not pre-sliced.
  3. On the first slice of bread, generously spread half of the creamy mixture.
  4. Place half of the smoked salmon on top of the spread. Add a couple of pieces of butter lettuce and a few slices of ripe tomato. Sprinkle capers if desired.
  5. Take the second slice of bread and place it on top. Spread the remaining mixture on this slice and repeat layering with remaining ingredients.
  6. Finish with the last slice of bread on top. Press down gently.
  7. Cut the sandwich into quarters or halves and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For gluten-free options, use gluten-free bread.
  • Try using avocado instead of cream cheese for a healthier fat option.
  • Assemble the sandwich just before serving for the freshest taste.
