  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 3 teaspoons cornstarch equal parts cornstarch and water
  • Brown rice for serving

Equipment

  • Sheet pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Wash and cut your broccoli into bite-sized florets and place them on one side of the sheet pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, ginger paste, salt, pepper, and cornstarch mixed with water. Whisk until well combined, then add the shrimp and toss to coat. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Spread the marinated shrimp on the sheet pan with the broccoli. Drizzle olive oil over the broccoli and season with salt and pepper. Toss the broccoli for even coating.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until the shrimp are pink and opaque and the broccoli is tender.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle sesame seeds over the shrimp and broccoli, and serve hot over brown rice.

Notes

  • Marinate shrimp ahead of time for deeper flavor.
  • Use fresh broccoli for the best texture.
  • Avoid overcrowding the sheet pan to ensure proper roasting.
