Samoa Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 3 cups water
  • 10 caramels the kind wrapped in plastic
  • 1/4 cup shredded toasted coconut
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Start by bringing 3 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, stir in 1 1/2 cups of old-fashioned oats. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the oats cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. After 5 minutes, add 10 unwrapped caramels to the saucepan. Stir well until the caramels melt and blend into the oatmeal.
  4. Stir in 1/4 cup of shredded toasted coconut and 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Cook for another minute to allow the chocolate to melt.
  5. Remove from heat and spoon the Samoa oatmeal into serving bowls. Top with additional toasted coconut or chocolate chips if desired.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a creamier texture, add a splash of milk when reheating.
  • Customize with your favorite toppings like nuts or fruits.
