Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup 10.5-oz
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • to taste Hamburger buns your choice of type

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Serving spoon
  • Plates or serving platters

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the 1 lb of lean ground beef. Cook the beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it’s browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to drain any excess fat.
  2. Once the beef is browned, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the entire can of condensed tomato soup, followed by 1 cup of salsa and 1 Tbsp of brown sugar. Mix everything well until fully combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld and develop.
  4. While the beef mixture is simmering, toast your hamburger buns lightly on a separate skillet or in the oven if you prefer.
  5. Spoon the flavorful beef mixture generously onto each toasted bun. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use lean ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Experiment with different types of buns for a fun twist.
