Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3.75 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 3.5 cups bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 30 miniature Reese's Cups frozen for at least 2 hours

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon or cookie scoop
  • Cooling rack

Method

  1. Begin by gathering all your ingredients at room temperature. This ensures even mixing and a better texture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This process should take about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then, add the pure vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the bittersweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps the cookies maintain their shape while baking.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, take a portion of dough and flatten it in your palm. Place a frozen Reese's Cup in the center and wrap the dough around it, forming a ball. Repeat this process with the remaining dough and Reese's Cups.
  9. Place the stuffed cookie dough balls onto the prepared cookie sheets, leaving adequate space between each one. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
  10. Once out of the oven, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. Enjoy your Reeses Cup Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies warm or store them for later!

Notes

  • Chill the dough to prevent spreading.
  • Use frozen Reese's Cups for the best gooey center.
  • Store baked cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
