  • 12 rolls Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 cups shredded chicken you can use rotisserie chicken for convenience
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce choose your favorite brand
  • 1/2 onion red onion thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 bunch freshly chopped cilantro

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Pastry brush
  • Sharp knife

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken and barbecue sauce. Stir until fully coated.
  3. Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half to create a top and bottom segment for each slider.
  4. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in the baking dish. Evenly distribute the pulled BBQ chicken mixture over the rolls. Top with slices of cheddar cheese and red onions.
  5. Place the top halves of the rolls over the chicken and cheese.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and garlic salt. Brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle with freshly chopped cilantro and serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize with different sauces or toppings.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
