  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding approximately 3.4 ounces
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup nonfat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste vanilla extract can be used as a substitute
  • to taste Granulated sugar for topping

Preparation Steps
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Crust - Choose your crust. If using a store-bought crust, place it in your pie dish. If making your own, crush your choice of cookies or crackers and mix with melted butter until combined. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the pie dish. Set aside.
  2. Step 2: Make the Filling - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix, nonfat milk, and vanilla bean paste until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until fully combined.
  3. Step 3: Assemble the Pie - Pour the creamy filling into the prepared crust, smoothing the top with a spatula. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  4. Step 4: Caramelize the Sugar - Once the pie has set, sprinkle an even layer of granulated sugar on top. Using a kitchen torch, carefully caramelize the sugar until it turns golden brown. If you don’t have a torch, place the pie under a broiler for a few minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy - Allow the caramelized sugar to cool and harden for a few minutes before slicing. Serve chilled and indulge in the delightful layers of flavor and texture.
