Ingredients

  • 18.3 ounces brownie mix Your favorite brand for that rich chocolate base.
  • 1 cup flour Helps to balance the texture between chewy and fudgy.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon water Just a little moisture to help blend everything.
  • 1 cup melted butter Salted butter works great for added flavor.
  • 1 cup M&M candies Choose colors according to holidays or personal preferences.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For that extra chocolatey goodness.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Spatula
  • Baking Sheets
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your cookies bake evenly and achieve that perfect chewy texture.
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper. This will prevent the cookies from sticking and make cleanup a breeze.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and water until well combined. The mixture should be smooth and slightly frothy.
  4. In another bowl, mix the brownie mix and flour together. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep your cookies tender.
  5. Gently fold in the M&M candies and chocolate chips. This is where the fun happens! Make sure they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops look slightly underbaked. The cookies will continue to cook slightly as they cool.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This step helps them set perfectly!

Notes

  • For a lower fat option, substitute half of the melted butter with unsweetened applesauce.
  • Use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour for added fiber and nutrients.
  • Consider using dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor.
