Ingredients

For the Wraps:
  • 10 to 12 pieces meatballs in marinara sauce
  • 1 cup pesto
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella, provolone, or Italian cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese plus extra for topping
  • 4 large burrito-size wraps
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Baking dish
  • Oven

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add your meatballs and pour in the marinara sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs, allowing them to heat through for about 5-7 minutes. The sauce should be bubbling and fragrant.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the shredded mozzarella (or your cheese of choice) and finely grated Parmesan cheese. This cheesy blend will create that delightful gooey texture.
  3. Lay out your burrito-size wraps on a clean surface. Spread a generous tablespoon of pesto on each wrap, ensuring you cover it evenly.
  4. Spoon a portion of the meatballs and marinara sauce onto each wrap, followed by a handful of the cheesy mixture. Be careful not to overfill, as these wraps need to be able to close!
  5. Fold in the sides of each wrap and roll them tightly from the bottom up, securing all the delicious fillings inside.
  6. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Place the wrapped burritos seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden and crispy.
  7. Transfer the wraps to a baking dish. Sprinkle any remaining cheese on top and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove the wraps from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Slice in half and serve with additional marinara sauce for dipping!

Notes

  • Customize with sautéed vegetables like peppers or spinach for added nutrition.
  • Try using different meats for variety; turkey or chicken work great!
  • Experiment with cheese blends for unique flavors.
  • For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes or jalapeños.
