  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
For Assembly:

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Skillet or Griddle
  • Spatula
  • Sharp knife

Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  2. Step 2: Divide the beef mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Step 3: Heat your skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Add cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. Step 4: Spread unsalted butter on one side of each slice of bread. In the same skillet, toast the buttered bread until golden brown.
  5. Step 5: Assemble the sandwiches by placing a cheesy patty between two slices of toasted bread.
  6. Step 6: Grill the assembled sandwiches in the skillet for another 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread is crispy and golden.

Notes

  • You can use different types of cheese like cheddar or pepper jack for variety.
  • Whole grain or gluten-free bread can be used for a healthier option.
  • Add sautéed vegetables for a veggie-packed version.
