Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Step 2: Divide the beef mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Step 3: Heat your skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Add cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Step 4: Spread unsalted butter on one side of each slice of bread. In the same skillet, toast the buttered bread until golden brown.
- Step 5: Assemble the sandwiches by placing a cheesy patty between two slices of toasted bread.
- Step 6: Grill the assembled sandwiches in the skillet for another 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread is crispy and golden.
Notes
- You can use different types of cheese like cheddar or pepper jack for variety.
- Whole grain or gluten-free bread can be used for a healthier option.
- Add sautéed vegetables for a veggie-packed version.
