Ingredients
  

For the Banana Bread:
  • 2-3 medium ripe bananas (mashed, approximately 1 1/2 cups)
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Line your loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until mostly smooth.
  4. Step 4: Add the melted butter to the bananas, then mix in the egg, vanilla extract (if using), and sour cream.
  5. Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
  6. Step 6: Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Step 7: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
  8. Step 8: Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Step 9: Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack.
