  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced, fresh
  • 1 pinch kosher salt to enhance flavor

  1. Step 1: Clean the Mushrooms - Wipe down your mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt.
  2. Step 2: Slice the Mushrooms - Using a sharp knife, slice the mushrooms evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  3. Step 3: Heat the Oil - In a skillet over medium heat, add oil and allow it to heat up for a minute.
  4. Step 4: Sauté the Mushrooms - Add the sliced mushrooms and sprinkle with salt. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  5. Step 5: Cool the Mushrooms - Remove from skillet and spread on a plate to cool completely.
  6. Step 6: Pack for Freezing - Transfer to freezer bags or containers, squeezing out air before sealing.
  7. Step 7: Freeze - Label and store in the freezer. Your mushrooms are ready to use!

Notes

  • Store frozen mushrooms for up to 6 months for best quality.
  • You can add frozen mushrooms directly to your cooking without thawing.
  • If thawing, do so in the refrigerator overnight for best results.
