Cooking Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground turkey to the skillet. Use your wooden spoon to break it up as it cooks. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the turkey is browned and cooked through.
- Once the turkey is browned, stir in the ground cumin and season with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to cook for another minute, allowing the spices to toast slightly and infuse the turkey.
- Pour in the Herdez Salsa Verde and water, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Add the fresh-squeezed lime juice, stirring well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- While the turkey mixture is simmering, prepare your salad base. In a large bowl or on individual plates, layer your favorite salad greens. Top with the turkey mixture and add additional toppings of your choice, such as diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, avocado, or cilantro.
- Serve the Ground Turkey Taco Salad with Salsa Verde immediately while warm. Drizzle with extra lime juice or salsa verde if desired, and enjoy the explosion of flavors in every bite!
Notes
- Store the turkey mixture separately from salad greens to prevent wilting.
- Use airtight containers to store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Prep salad toppings ahead of time, but add them just before serving to maintain freshness.
