Ingredients

For the Noodles:
  • 3 oz. ramen noodle packet
  • 1 tsp. vegetable oil for sautéing
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic fresh
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • chopped green onions for garnish
  • hot sauce optional

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Measuring spoons
  • Chopsticks or a fork
  • Serving bowl

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Cook the Noodles - Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions, typically around 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, drain the noodles and set them aside.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Sauce - In a skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, just until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Step 3: Combine Ingredients - Stir in the soy sauce and brown sugar into the skillet with the garlic. Mix well and let it bubble for a minute to combine the flavors.
  4. Step 4: Toss the Noodles - Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the garlic sauce. Allow the noodles to heat through, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Garnish - Transfer the noodles to a serving bowl. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. If you like a little heat, drizzle some hot sauce on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for a more vibrant flavor.
  • Toast sesame seeds in the skillet for deeper flavor.
  • Experiment with different noodles like udon or soba.
