Ingredients

  • 2 lbs golden potatoes washed and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Large baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Sharp knife

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). A hot oven is key to achieving the perfect crispy texture on your potatoes.
  2. Step 2: Wash and scrub the golden potatoes thoroughly under running water. There’s no need to peel them; cut them into uniform cubes, about 1 to 1.5 inches in size.
  3. Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well blended.
  4. Step 4: Add the cubed potatoes to the mixing bowl and toss them in the buttery mixture until they are evenly coated.
  5. Step 5: Spread the coated potatoes in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  6. Step 6: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the potatoes for about 30-35 minutes, tossing them halfway through.
  7. Step 7: Once the potatoes are crispy and golden brown, remove them from the oven. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh touch before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half of the butter with olive oil or a plant-based butter alternative.
  • Add garlic powder or onion powder for extra flavor.
  • Experiment with herbs like rosemary or thyme for a fresh herbal note.
