Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (8 count)
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 teaspoons strawberry jam

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the can of refrigerated crescent rolls. Unroll the dough and separate it into the 8 triangles along the perforated edges.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  4. On each triangle of dough, spread about a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture, leaving a small border around the edges. Then, place 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese filling.
  5. Starting from the wide end of the triangle, roll the dough towards the point, making sure to tuck the filling inside.
  6. Place the assembled danishes on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Once baked, remove the danishes from the oven and allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Experiment with different types of jam or preserves for unique flavors.
  • Store danishes in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Drizzle icing made from powdered sugar and milk over cooled danishes for extra sweetness.
