  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger or freshly grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Measuring spoons

Method

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Noodles - Begin by cooking the ramen noodles or yakisoba noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Heat the Oil - In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking.
  3. Step 3: Sauté the Onion - Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
  4. Step 4: Add the Cabbage - Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until the cabbage wilts and softens.
  5. Step 5: Season the Mixture - Sprinkle in salt and pepper to taste, along with the ground ginger, sugar, and granulated garlic. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.
  6. Step 6: Combine with Noodles - Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil, tossing everything together until the noodles are well coated and heated through.
  7. Step 7: Final Taste Adjustment - Taste your chow mein and adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more salt, pepper, or soy sauce to suit your preference.
  8. Step 8: Serve and Enjoy - Remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy your Easy Chow Mein Recipe as is, or pair it with your favorite protein for a heartier meal!
