  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 ounces)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (13.25 ounces)
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Step 3: In a separate large bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix and melted butter, stirring until moist to form a batter.
  4. Step 4: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over it, then pour the remaining cake batter on top.
  5. Step 5: Spoon the cherry pie filling over the top of the batter.
  6. Step 6: Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Step 7: Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely before serving.
