  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken tenders
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

Method:
  1. Begin by rinsing the chicken tenders under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, mix the olive oil (or melted butter), minced garlic, dried basil, and paprika. In a third bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs and freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  3. Coat each chicken tender in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the olive oil mixture, ensuring it’s well-coated. Finally, roll the tender in the Panko and Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For gluten-free, use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs.
  • For dairy-free, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast.
