Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 8 servings
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: Mexican

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup Mexican crema
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 5 fresh jalapeno peppers
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dry chicken bouillon

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand Mixer or Whisk
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Serving Dish

Method

  1. Start by washing the jalapenos and cilantro. Remove the stems from the jalapenos and chop them finely. If you prefer a milder dip, be sure to remove the seeds and membranes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. If you're using Mexican crema, add it to the mixture as well. Using a hand mixer or whisk, blend the ingredients until they are smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the chopped jalapenos, cilantro, garlic powder, dry chicken bouillon, and lime juice. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the creamy base.
  4. Give your dip a taste test! This is your chance to adjust any flavors. If you want more heat, add extra jalapenos. For more tang, squeeze in additional lime juice.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully, resulting in a tastier dip.
  6. Once chilled, transfer the Cream Cheese Jalapeno Dip to a serving dish, and it’s ready to enjoy! Serve it with tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or even as a spread in wraps.

Notes

  • This dip can be made up to two days in advance for meal prep.
