Making the Rolls:
- Step 1: Activate the Yeast - In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast with sugar and warm water. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until frothy.
- Step 2: Prepare the Dough - In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and stir.
- Step 3: Add Flour and Egg - Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until the dough comes together. Add the egg and mix, adjusting flour as needed for a smooth texture.
- Step 4: Knead the Dough - Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Step 5: Let the Dough Rise - Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
- Step 6: Shape the Rolls - Punch down the dough, transfer to a floured surface, divide into 12-15 pieces, and shape into balls.
- Step 7: Second Rise - Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Step 8: Bake the Rolls - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Step 9: Prepare the Cinnamon Honey Butter - While rolls bake, mix softened butter, honey, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Step 10: Serve and Enjoy! - Remove rolls from oven, brush tops with melted butter, and serve warm with cinnamon honey butter.
