Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for ensuring even baking.
- Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish - Grease your 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or a light coating of butter to prevent sticking.
- Step 3: Roll Out the Crescent Rolls - Open the packages of crescent rolls and unroll them on a clean surface. Lay one package flat in the bottom of the greased baking dish, pressing the seams together to create a solid base.
- Step 4: Make the Cheesecake Filling - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of white sugar, vanilla extract, and the large egg. Use a whisk or electric mixer to blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Step 5: Spread the Cheesecake Filling - Pour the cheesecake filling over the layer of crescent rolls in the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Step 6: Top with the Second Layer of Crescent Rolls - Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and place it over the cheesecake filling, again pressing the seams together to seal it.
- Step 7: Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture - In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of white sugar. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the top layer of crescent rolls.
- Step 8: Bake the Bars - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Step 9: Cool and Drizzle - Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes. Drizzle with chocolate syrup before cutting into bars.
Notes
- These bars freeze wonderfully! Cut and store in an airtight container.
- Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking when freezing.
- Thaw frozen bars in the refrigerator overnight for best results.
