Ingredients

For the Cheesecake Bars:
  • 16 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls (2 - 8 ounce packages)
  • 16 ounces cream cheese (softened, 2 blocks)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (I used Hershey's)

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for ensuring even baking.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish - Grease your 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or a light coating of butter to prevent sticking.
  3. Step 3: Roll Out the Crescent Rolls - Open the packages of crescent rolls and unroll them on a clean surface. Lay one package flat in the bottom of the greased baking dish, pressing the seams together to create a solid base.
  4. Step 4: Make the Cheesecake Filling - In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 1/2 cup of white sugar, vanilla extract, and the large egg. Use a whisk or electric mixer to blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Step 5: Spread the Cheesecake Filling - Pour the cheesecake filling over the layer of crescent rolls in the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  6. Step 6: Top with the Second Layer of Crescent Rolls - Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and place it over the cheesecake filling, again pressing the seams together to seal it.
  7. Step 7: Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Mixture - In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, and 1/4 cup of white sugar. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the top layer of crescent rolls.
  8. Step 8: Bake the Bars - Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  9. Step 9: Cool and Drizzle - Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes. Drizzle with chocolate syrup before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • These bars freeze wonderfully! Cut and store in an airtight container.
  • Separate layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking when freezing.
  • Thaw frozen bars in the refrigerator overnight for best results.
