Ingredients

  • 40 pieces Pretzel Rods Choose sturdy pretzel rods that won’t break easily during dipping.
  • 16 ounces Chocolate Can use dark, milk, or white chocolate; melting chocolate chips work well.
  • 1/2 batch Homemade Caramel Can be made from scratch or use 1 bag of store-bought caramels.

Equipment

  • Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Fork or Dipping Tool
  • Heatproof Spatula
  • Cooling rack

Method

  1. Start by laying out all your ingredients and equipment on a clean, flat surface.
  2. Using a double boiler or a microwave, gently melt the chocolate until smooth.
  3. Take a pretzel rod and dip it into the chocolate, ensuring it’s coated evenly. Let any excess chocolate drip off.
  4. If using caramel, melt it separately and drizzle over the chocolate-coated pretzel rods.
  5. Place the dipped pretzel rods on the lined baking sheet, spaced out to prevent sticking.
  6. Allow the chocolate to set completely, about 15-20 minutes in the refrigerator.
  7. Once set, decorate with sprinkles, crushed nuts, or additional melted chocolate if desired.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
  • Refrigerate for longer freshness, up to a month.
  • Keep separated with parchment paper to avoid sticking.
