Ingredients
  

For the Caramelized Onions:
  • 2 medium sweet onions thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch salt
For the Burgers:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (93% lean)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter for cooking patties
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 pieces St Pierre Brioche Burger Buns
  • Leafy green lettuce
For the Herb Mayo:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chopped basil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Caramelize the Onions - Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and salt, cooking for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Herb Mayo - In a bowl, mix mayonnaise with basil, parsley, rosemary, and garlic. Season with black pepper to taste.
  3. Step 3: Shape the Beef - Form the ground beef into four equal portions without overworking the meat.
  4. Step 4: Smash and Cook the Burgers - Heat oil in the skillet over high heat. Smash each beef portion down to create a thin patty. Season with salt and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Add Cheese - After flipping, add butter and cheese to each patty. Cover to melt cheese for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Toast the Buns - Slice buns and toast them until golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Assemble the Burgers - Spread herb mayo on the bottom bun, add lettuce, patty, caramelized onions, and the top bun.
