Ingredients

  • 1 box devil’s food cake mix 15.25 ounce
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips plus more for the top, if desired

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking Pan
  • Parchment Paper (optional)

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This will ensure your brownies bake evenly.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Baking Pan - Grease your baking pan with a little cooking spray or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. Step 3: Combine the Ingredients - In a mixing bowl, combine the devil’s food cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  4. Step 4: Add Chocolate Chips - Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a few to sprinkle on top for extra chocolatey goodness.
  5. Step 5: Pour into the Pan - Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Step 6: Bake - Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter!).
  7. Step 7: Cool and Serve - Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a crunchy texture, add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans.
  • Swirl in peanut butter for a delicious twist.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
