Ingredients

Ingredients:
  • 1 prepared pie crust Prepared pie crust store-bought or homemade
  • 4 large Large eggs
  • 1 cup Milk whole or low-fat
  • 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic freshly minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 cups Small chopped broccoli florets

Equipment

  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Baking sheet

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that your quiche bakes evenly.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Pie Crust. Place your prepared pie crust into the pie dish. If you're using a frozen crust, let it thaw according to package instructions. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling.
  3. Step 3: Sauté the Broccoli and Garlic. In a skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped broccoli and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still bright green. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Step 4: Whisk the Egg Mixture. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Step 5: Combine Ingredients. Stir the sautéed broccoli and garlic into the egg mixture. Then, fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring everything is evenly distributed.
  6. Step 6: Pour and Bake. Pour the broccoli-cheddar mixture into the prepared pie crust. Spread it out evenly and place the pie dish on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Step 7: Cool and Serve. Once baked, remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. This will make slicing easier. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy your delicious Broccoli-Cheddar Quiche!

Notes

  • Make sure the broccoli is chopped into small pieces for even cooking.
  • Let the quiche cool slightly before slicing to help it hold its shape.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • This quiche can be served warm, at room temperature, or even cold, making it versatile for any occasion.
