Ingredients

For the Salmon Bites:
  • 46 ounces skinless salmon filets diced into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika for a smoky flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried cayenne pepper for a kick
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for depth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme for earthiness
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano for herbal notes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt to enhance the flavors
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper for a bit of spice
  • Olive oil spray for a light coating
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • Brown rice (optional) for a more filling meal

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Tongs

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Salmon. Begin by cutting your skinless salmon filets into 1-inch chunks. This ensures even cooking and allows the spices to coat every piece beautifully.
  2. Step 2: Mix the Spices. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, kosher salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed to ensure that all the flavors are evenly distributed.
  3. Step 3: Season the Salmon. Add the diced salmon to the bowl with the spice mixture. Toss gently to coat each piece of salmon evenly with the spices, ensuring that every bite is packed with flavor.
  4. Step 4: Air Fry the Salmon Bites. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the seasoned salmon bites in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the salmon is cooked through and has a nice blackened crust.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy. Once cooked, remove the salmon bites from the air fryer and serve immediately. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh finish. For a heartier meal, serve alongside brown rice.

Notes

  • Leftover salmon bites can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, pop them back into the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
  • If freezing, ensure they're completely cooled before placing in a freezer-safe container; they can be frozen for up to 2 months.
