  • 2 tablespoons lime juice brightens up the flavors
  • 1 lime Zest of enhances lime flavor
  • 1 cup orange juice (no sugar added)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any other non-dairy or dairy milk)
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)

Equipment

  • High-speed blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Citrus zester or grater
  • Cutting board and knife

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients. Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly. If using fresh tropical fruits, chop them into smaller pieces for easier blending. Peel and slice the banana if it’s fresh.
  2. Step 2: Add Ingredients to the Blender. In your high-speed blender, add the spinach first, followed by the banana, tropical fruits, lime juice, lime zest, orange juice, and almond milk.
  3. Step 3: Blend Until Smooth. Secure the lid on your blender and blend on high until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth. If it’s too thick, you can add a little more almond milk or water to reach your desired consistency.
  4. Step 4: Taste and Adjust. Taste your smoothie! If you need a little more sweetness, add the maple syrup or honey and blend again for a few seconds.
  5. Step 5: Serve and Enjoy. Pour the smoothie into your favorite glass, garnish with a slice of lime or a sprinkle of zest if you’re feeling fancy, and enjoy your nutritious creation!
