Ingredients

  • 9 ounces cheese ravioli fresh or frozen, your choice
  • 2 cups marinara sauce rich and flavorful, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for that perfect melt
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese adds sharp, nutty notes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil to lightly grease the baking dish and enhance flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder warms up the sauce with subtle garlic flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning a blend of herbs for that classic Italian touch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish and a pop of color

Equipment

  • Baking dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Grater
  • Oven mitts
  • Spatula or large spoon

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease your baking dish with olive oil to prevent sticking and add a subtle richness to your dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, gently toss the 9 ounces of cheese ravioli with 2 cups of marinara sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste. Make sure every ravioli is coated in the flavorful sauce.
  3. Transfer the saucy ravioli into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Sprinkle the top with 1 cup shredded mozzarella and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a vibrant finish. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use frozen ravioli straight from the package, but boil briefly for 1-2 minutes to ensure tenderness if desired.
  • To get a crispy top layer, spread cheese evenly and bake uncovered until golden brown.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
