Ingredients

  • 2 pounds carrots choose the fattest for best crunch
  • 1/4 cup olive oil or melted coconut oil helps with crispiness
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt essential for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin adds warmth
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon complements sweetness

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Sharp knife or mandoline
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) for perfect crunch.
  2. Wash and peel the carrots. Slice them into thin rounds, about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, sea salt, ground cumin, and ground cinnamon. Stir to create a flavorful mixture.
  4. Add the sliced carrots to the bowl and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the carrot slices in a single layer on the baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes to crisp up further.

Notes

  • Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For long-term storage, freeze uncooked slices and bake when ready.
  • Try adding cayenne pepper for spicy chips!
