Ingredients
  

For the Steak:
  • 1 pound ribeye steak Cut into 1-inch bite-size pieces.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sweet soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (coarsely ground)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
For the Glaze:
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce For the final glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium) for balancing the glaze.
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (such as sambal oelek)
  • 2 tablespoons water To thin out the glaze.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Steak - Start by cutting the ribeye steak into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
  2. Step 2: Marinate the Steak - In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet soy sauce, black pepper, cornstarch, and baking soda. Add the steak pieces and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Make the Glaze - In a separate bowl, whisk together the additional hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, chili garlic sauce, and water. Set aside.
  4. Step 4: Heat Your Skillet - Place a non-stick skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  5. Step 5: Cook the Steak Bites - Add the marinated steak bites in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Step 6: Add the Glaze - Pour the glaze over the steak bites, toss to coat, and cook for an additional minute.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy - Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy as-is or with rice or lettuce wraps.
