Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 8 ounces flank steak sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Method
 

  1. Begin by slicing the flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about ¼ inch thick.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the packed brown sugar, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, and cornstarch.
  3. In a large wok or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and the chopped red and green bell peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the meat and vegetables in the skillet. Stir to coat everything evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat and serve your Amazing Pepper Steak Stir Fry immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the flank steak for 30 minutes before cooking.
