Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 8 leaves fresh basil
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • sliced fresh basil optional for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps:
  1. Step 1: Prepare the Chicken - Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Pound the chicken until about ½ inch thick.
  2. Step 2: Make the Filling - Layer mozzarella and basil on one side of each chicken breast, then fold over and secure with toothpicks.
  3. Step 3: Breading the Chicken - Set up a breading station with flour, eggs, and a breadcrumb mixture. Dredge the chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
  4. Step 4: Air Fry the Chicken - Spray the air fryer basket and place the chicken inside. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Step 5: Add Marinara Sauce - Remove chicken, add marinara sauce and remaining mozzarella, then return to air fryer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Serve - Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, garnish with fresh basil, and enjoy!
