Ingredients

  • 3 pieces bone-in chicken thighs
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 dashes black pepper
  • 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • to taste lemon wedges for serving

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Serving platter

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and Parmesan cheese. Stir well to create a flavorful marinade that will coat the chicken.
  2. Place the bone-in chicken thighs into the bowl with the marinade. Use your hands or a spatula to ensure each piece is evenly coated. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes for maximum flavor.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This step is crucial for achieving that perfectly crispy exterior.
  4. Once the air fryer is preheated, arrange the marinated chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for color and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, pat the chicken dry before marinating.
  • Experiment with different spices in the marinade to create your own flavor profile.
  • If you prefer boneless chicken thighs, adjust the cooking time to approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • For a cheesy crust, add more Parmesan cheese on top in the last few minutes of cooking.
