For the Chicken:
  • 2 pounds chicken drumsticks (about 8)
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or substitute with regular paprika)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking Sheet or Plate
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer

Method

Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Prep the Chicken - Start by rinsing the chicken drumsticks under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. Step 2: Make the Seasoning Mix - In a mixing bowl, combine the canola oil, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and baking powder. Mix until you have a smooth paste.
  3. Step 3: Coat the Chicken - Add the chicken drumsticks to the bowl and toss them in the seasoning mix. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
  4. Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer - Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Step 5: Arrange the Chicken in the Air Fryer - Place the seasoned drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  6. Step 6: Air Fry the Chicken - Cook the chicken for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check if it has reached 165°F.
  7. Step 7: Rest and Serve - Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try adding dried herbs like thyme or oregano to the seasoning mix.
  • To reheat leftovers, use the air fryer at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
  • Always check the internal temperature to ensure food safety.
