Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Bread (sourdough, Italian, or white)
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasonings
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt (or kosher salt to taste)

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Cut the loaf of French bread into bite-sized cubes, about 1-inch in size.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, Italian seasonings, Parmesan cheese, and garlic salt. Stir until well blended.
  4. Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss gently until each piece is evenly coated.
  5. Place the coated bread cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  6. Remove from the air fryer once golden and crispy, and let them cool completely.

Notes

  • Using fresh bread yields the best results; stale bread can work but won't have the same texture.
  • A good quality olive oil enhances the flavor of your croutons.
  • Store croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
