Directions
- Begin by removing the outer leaves of the cabbage. Rinse it under cold water to remove any dirt. Place the cabbage on a cutting board and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks. You should be able to get about 4-6 steaks from one head of cabbage.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter (or olive oil) with Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
- Using a brush or a spoon, generously coat both sides of each cabbage steak with the seasoning mixture. Ensure each piece is well-covered to maximize flavor.
- Sprinkle the finely shredded parmesan cheese over the top of each cabbage steak, followed by a dusting of dried parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
- Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully place the seasoned cabbage steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove the cabbage steaks from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute. Serve them warm as a delicious side dish or a satisfying vegetarian main course.
Notes
- For a lighter option, use olive oil instead of butter.
- Feel free to experiment with different seasonings based on your preference.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
